Time for Golf

Broken pipe and cracked valve in a shower sent water down to our lower floor bathroom - Lucky I was on my way downstairs and we were able to shut the water off before it caused a whole lot of damage.  The pipe was inside an outside wall and froze from the extreme cold we have had.  So between plumbers coming and going and what seemed like a lot of appointments for my husband, I have not had much time to make cards or blog for a couple of weeks.

This card is for my brother who would golf every day if he had the chance.  I kept the card fairly CAS with just the images and sentiment.

The watch and sentiment are images from Doodle Pantry and the golf cart is from Just Inklined.  I coloured the golf cart with copics, but they are just at that age where they are running out of ink so every time I got half way through a colour the pen would run dry.  So there are numerous colours of blue ink on the bag.  I used a silver pen to accent the club covers and zipper pulls.  The watch was precoloured.

I do have to make a list of my copics that need ink and order a tube of each.

A Christmas Candle

Well it is still very cold here in our complex the street and our driveways were all ice this morning.  But, by the time I was ready to go curling this morning some sand and salt had been put down, so it was melting.
Had a great game to-day even though we only had three on our team, we managed to win the game -  that meant we bought drinks for our opponents (Coffee).  A good morning!

This image is a freebie from Digi Stamps 4 Joy for their first Christmas Challenge.  I stamped the image twice, once on white cardstock and then on the beige DP.  I coloured the candle with Yasutomo metalic paint and then cut it out and glued it to the beige.  I cut out stars and coloured them with copics and attached them to the candle.  The base was coloured with copics.  The sentiment is a die cut.  The DP and cardstock are from my stash.

I if you stop by, I do hope you have time to leave a comment, they are very much appreciated.

The Skaters

Wow first post for 2014 and it is nice to be inside as it is freezing outside.  We have not had a winter as cold as this for quite a few years.  We were so lucky that we didn't lose our power in the ice storm.  Many of our friends were without power for several days, not very pleasant with no heat or water.  Because it is so cold my next card is a reminder that it is still winter here!

I have created this card using a sketch from Mojo Monday I did a bit of flipping of the original and this is what I came up with:

Original -

My Version -

I chose the square card -

I coloured the image from Sassy Cheryl's with copics.  adding some silver glitter from Recollections to the falling snow, the ice and around the edge of the oval.  The pink DP is from Recollections and so are the Dimensional Sticker snowflakes.  The grey\blue DP is from Cardmaking and Papercrafting Magazine.

I was able to pick up some of the shine from the glitter on the oval and from the snowflakes.

The Trees

This is probably my last post before the New Year.  Two more Christmas Cards:  these were based on a sketch in the back of the Scrapbook and Cards Magazine.  I used my Tim Holtz Tree Die and used various coloured cardstock to cut them out.  I used different cardstock for the background of each card. I added different chipboard stickers to the right side of each card.  I made several more, but only took pictures of two.

Wishing all A Happy New Year - 2014 is not far away!

I am entering the first card in the following challenges.

Snowy Postcard

I made a few of these cards to send last minute,  using different inks when I stamped The Snowy Postcard scene from Stampendous.  I used a variety of DP layers behind the stamped one.  Then I added the Diecut embellishments to the right side of each one. These were in my stash but not in the right envelope, so don't know what company they were from.

I am going to enter the last card with the girl on the sled in the following challenges:

Christmas Post

Well, after lots of company and a wonderful Christmas, I am finally going to add the last of my Christmas Cards to my blog.  We were so lucky that we did not lose power over the holidays as many of my friends did who live in the surrounding area.

I used a Lilli of the Valley stamp for this card - two youngsters posting a card.  I cut the ovals with my Colluzle, added a die cut from Sizzex down the side.  The cardstock and DP are from my stash.  The images are colored with Copics.  I added some flower soft to her muff and the bottom of her coat.  Now, with his unkempt looking hair, and the way I colored him, I think he looks like he came out in his pj's and bath robe!  But I do still like the card.

Angel on High

I decided to use an interesting sketch from MoJo Monday for this card.  My interpretation is just a smidge different than the sketch!
I stamped and heat embossed the image which is from Inkadinkadoo.  The sentiment is a digital image from TLC.  I had to pop the main part of the card up as the twine I used under it was quite thick.  Some cardstock and DP and it was finished.

This is the sketch I used:

Decorating for Christmas

Well Christmas is getting closer and closer and I am still making cards - good thing most of them will be hand delivered.

For this card I have used a Christmas tree ornament stamp from Inkadinkadoo which I heat embossed.  I also heat embossed the sentiment stamp from Stamping up.  Used a Cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder for the background and a silver die cut from K&Company.

And a close up of the ornaments!

I based my card on a really neat sketch from Feeling Sketchy

Fun Creating a Snowman

I have used a sketch from Mojo Monday

I chose the square card and pretty well stayed with the sketch - not much deviation.

The stamp is from Lilli of the Valley and the DP is from K&Company.  I used a plain silver cardstock as a frame for each section. The silver braid was rather thick, so I used pop-dots behand the center section of the card to fit over it.  I used some clear glitter glue on the fur on the hats & boots, but it does not show in this photo, so I took a close up hopefully it shows here.

I like to use a sketch for a change it makes it easier to decide right away what you are going to do for the front of your card!
We do have a little snow on the ground, but not enough to stop you from getting around.  This weather and the date on the calendar do make me think my Christmas Cards should be done soon!  I received my first card in the mail yesterday, but I never send them out that early.

Wedding Party

Lilli of the Valley have such wonderful images for weddings - I had recently bought some of their stamps with two such stamps among the ones I purchased.  This was a second marriage for the bride and groom, being an older couple they decided to get married out of town, in a place where the bride had lived before.  I was going to use the stamp with the guy in the Tall hat and the bride in the long dress.  But when I heard that when they came out of the church after the wedding there was a horse and carriage waiting at the curb to take them on a tour of the city (Montreal) I decided that this was the stamp I was going to use.  Five of us, who had been friends of theirs for years were invited to a dinner they were hosting in town a couple of weeks after the wedding.  I made this card for our group.
We decided to give them a gift of a stay in Niagara on the Lake and a wine tour and their choice of a bottle or two of wine. Thus the wine bottle inside the card an image from Patti Gomez.  The card front was colored with copics and the inside on the backside of the vellum with pencil crayons.  The sentiment was a stamp from Inkadinkado and the butterflies and ribbon were from my stash.

I put pale green cardstock, the same as I used on the front of the card on the top and bottom, and then adhered the one sheet of vellum over them.

Last night we went to the dinner, and even though it was snowing so hard you could hardly see when we drove to the hall, it had stopped by the time we were ready to leave.  There were about 80 people at the dinner and we all had a wonderful meal and there was lovely music from a guitar player and a great vocalist during the meal and for the rest of the evening.  I would say a good time was had by all.

I have eight grandsons, so I always seem to be making another card for a boy.  Love them all, the boys that is!

Lets play Hockey

This cutie Hockey Player is a digital image from Kenny K and is for my daughters birthday.  She plays hockey with a group of women from Hamilton usually on a Sunday night.  Don't know how she gets up for work on the Monday morning after.  She always wears a helmet when playing and does not wear shorts- but long pants down to the skates!  She says she does wear her ball hat after the game!

I coloured the image with Copics.  The sentiment, the DP, cardstock Hockey word and the Puck are from my stash.

When the Girls Get Together

Well, cold weather for the last week, and I already have a cold which I hope I can get rid of soon!  But that being said, if I'm going to be inside I might have more time for crafting.  I worked on this card to-day and I kind of like it!

Bugaboo digital images are always fun to work with, I know my daughter in law likes wine, so I hope she enjoys this card for her Birthday.  I used a Spellbinders Die to Cut around the images which I coloured with copics.  Added Glossy Accents to the eye glasses as well as the wine glasses and bottles.  Don't know if that shows in the picture.  The sentiment comes with the image, though when I made it smaller, my computer changed the Font.  The DP is from Paper Pizzaz and the ribbon is from my stash.

Hope everyone has a great week-end!

Little Purple Witch

This image is called Tabitha and it is from Mo's Digital Pencil - isn't she a sweetie clutching her little Teddy Bear!  I don't think I did her justice with my copic colors this time, but I have already given it to Regan so I can't make any improvements now.  I cut around the image leaving white space and then cut the orange cardstock keeping the shape of the image.  The background is DP and the sentiment framed in yellow are from my Halloween stash.

I colored the image with copics - framed it with most of the background colors after I had cut him out.  The DP is from my stash and the Sentiment Sticker is from Crafty Secrets.  Colton is coming by to-morrow night with his sister Rachel in their costumes - can't wait!

Shades of Halloween

All of the colors of halloween:  Orange, purple, green and of course black.  A great Halloween image from Sassy Studio Designs with an ugly spider on a web!  I have colored her in copics.  Used a sticker sentiment, DP and some cutouts from a piece of DP all from my stash.

Just returned from the doctor's office for my husband re his Parkinsons and he is doing much better seems to have levelled out and has had no falls since his last visit.  If things remain the same, we will not have to make another visit for six months instead of three.  It is a beautiful sunny day - not too cold!

This bright orange cutie is from Pollycraft and her name is Luna Bitterfrost a card for my grandaughter Jessica.  The image is colored with copics.  I have framed the image with black and added 2 DP from my stash behind her.  The bat sticker is from my stash.  The spider stamp is from Making Memories and the sentiment sticker and ribbon are both from Recollections.

Halloween Wicked Witch

For grandaughter Rachel this wonderful witch from Mo's Digital  Pencil.  When I use the term wicked I mean in a good way! ( The way teenagers use that word meaning something amazing to them!)  I have colored the image with copics.  For the background I have added a strip of sequin waste over DP from my stash.  The Sentiment is also from my Halloween stash.

The sentiment is really not that dark, but taking photos in the evening is not the best thing to do.  I know the cat should be black, but too hard for me to color that way!

The Presents

This little sweetheart with the gifts is a stamp from Lilli of the Valley, she was such fun to color with my copics.
I used a sketch from  CLP Sketch Challenge which I was going to use when it was first shown on their blog, but a computer not working properly prevented that.  But, I thought it a very interesting sketch so I am using it now.  All of the DP are from DCWV,  I used four different sheets from the same pad.  I added lace to both sides and around the music piece.  The lace and the pink flower at the bottom of the card are stickers that have been in my stash for a very long time. The corner die cut is from Marriane Design and the perky little blue bow is also from my stash.

T

We should be nice and cosy this winter as we are having a new furnace, air conditioner and hot water heater installed to-day and they will finish the job to-morrow, but the furnace is running - good thing - as it may go down to 2 or 3 degrees tonight.  No hot water until tomorrow though!

A White Truck

The image of this white truck is from Doodle Pantry.  My grandson is having a birthday and as he is the owner of two trucks at the moment I thought I'd use one of them for the theme for his 20th birthday card!
One is white the other older one is beige.

This was fun to do, I used Paper Adventures Diamond Dust DP for the background.  The DP is black and has very fine particles of sparkling green dust on it.  ( It does not show too well in the photo, think I need a light box.)  I cut the truck out of white cardstock and added some color with copics.  The windows and headlights were given a coat of Ranger's Glossy Accents.  The sentiments are from TLC and I think they are perfect as his mother says he spends too much time in the garage!  I framed the image with white cardstock after I had stamped around the edges with docrafts Urban Stamp - sprockets and gears.

It's hard to believe I have three grandsons this age now, seems like only yesterday they were toddlers!
Every one is different, but all are enjoyable to be with.

The Good Fairy Glinda

This wonderful image is one that I won from Sassy Studio for a comment  in a blog hop.  It will be a Birthday Card for my nieces daughter who would like to be an actress - she is 11.  She is going to have the lead in the play Babes in Toyland in their local theatre in Ohio.  I hope her dreams come true, I know she will work hard.

Fish Tales

Here I go with another Kenny K digital image - I do like to work with them because I know my grandkids enjoy them.  This one is for my nephews son who is seven.  I selected this one, because this is about the age that my children used to come home from shopping with Dad with a clear plastic bag with goldfish to put in a fish bowl and when they got older we always had an aquarium.

I colored the image with copics, using Rangers Glossy Accents on the bag with the fish.  The die cut is from Spellbinders, I edged the white one with my copic marker.  I cut the yellow one out of foam, because I thought it would add a little depth without a lot of weight.  The DP is from Recollections and the yellow corner brads are from my stash.  I stamped the sentiment on white cardstock which I mounted on orange corrugated card stock.

Just part of a Triathalon

My youngest son loves to compete in triathlons even though he does not have time to get much practice in these days.  They start with a swim - then a bike ride -  and finally a run to the finish line.  I was amazed the first time I saw everyone start out in the water - and then to see most of them cross the finish line - it was awesome!

So I thought I would use this great digital image from Just Inklined for his birthday card.  I have colored the image with copics.  The background is a picture that I took of the sky from our backyard, catching only the tops of the trees,  I added a strip of black cardstock at the bottom of the card for the road. Put some Rangers Glossy Accents on the water bottles, added a sentiment and it was done!

Had a few computer problems so first post in a long time.  I had someone lined up to fix the problem and then after about five days, he told me he was too busy to do it - I won't be calling on that business again!

I love Kenny K's images they always have that wide eyed full of life look.  I have colored the image with copics, using glossy accents on the helmet and the skateboard wheels.  The white board DP is from My Mind's Eye and the red is from Colorbok.  The sentiment is from Desert Diva.

I thought I would add a close up of his face:

Back to School Science

Another grandson having a birthday and going to a new school.  He loves science, so I though this card would be perfect for him.  He has always entered something in the science fairs at school through the years and has done very well.  He would like to be a surgeon.

This digital image and the top sentiment are both from Simply Betty.  I printed the bottom sentiment from my computer.  I used copics to color the image and added some Rangers glossy accents to the beaker he is holding in his hand.  The DP is from K and Company.

Coffee Break

A card especially for a friend that I have known for over 40 years!  We played softball together, and now, we golf to-gether.  I can't get her to make cards though!

I made this card based on a sketch from Feeling Sketchy which I followed quite closely, though I did choose to use several small flowers rather than one large one.

The digital image is from Lili of the Valley Ltd.  I think it is a very sweet image - two friends meeting for coffee.  I have colored the image with copics.  The designer papers I chose to use are from K&Company.
The sentiment was computer generated.  The small flowers are from Petaloo with rhinestones added to them.
Because of the sketch it went together quickly!

Have had my youngest grandson here this week, he is just over 2 years old and he does go to day care each day.  Tonight he helped me water the lawn and the garden as we have not had rain for a while. We had a lot of fun, but of course he ended up pretty wet, and was glad to get his jammies on for bed. His mom is working out of town this week and we are always so glad to have him come for a visit.  Hope you enjoyed your day!

Zebra and Foal

Well here I am yet again with another card for a male, having 8 grandsons and 3sons, I am starting to run out of ideas for manly cards.  I thought this card would be quite suitable!

The Zebra and Foal are a wonderful digital image from Delicious Doodles.  My photo is a little wonky, but the other photos turned out very dark, so decided to use this one.  I cut out the image and the grassy area at the bottom and added it to a piece of cardstock from DCWV , their Safari Chic Stack. I colored the grass with copics.  The tree I stamped with Memories, Licorice ink.  The tree is a stamp from Stampers Anonymous, Tim Holtz Collection.  I stamped it twice to make it taller.

I had another small Zebra stamp from Class Act which I used on the inside of the card,  The die cut I used fit in perfectly between the dots.  The die was part of a set from Nellie's Multi Frames.  I used  the same dotted paper from Lost & Found on the right side waiting for a sentiment.

Wonderful weather we are having here right now, warm, but not too hot, but I guess we could use some rain for the gardens and grass.

Golfing is Fun

Well here I am with another card for a male.  Last week I went to a party with three cards for my lady friends, and I can't believe I did not think to take a picture of any of them!  Another grandson is having a birthday and he will be 18.  He received new golf clubs for his birthday from his parents last week, and I think he has been out golfing with them every day since.

The main image is from the internet Clip Art.  The golf bag is a stamp made in the US but with no company name. Stamped with Tea Dye Distress Ink.  The Sentiment is a freebie image from Any Old Craft.  The ribbon and cardstock are from my stash.  It did not take long to make, but I think he will like it!

Teenage Golfers

I seem to be making a lot of cards for men lately.  I have two grandsons having birthdays next week,  One will be l7 and the other l9.  I know that they both like to golf, even though they don't get out to do it too often.  So I decided I would make them both the same card. I did change them up slightly with colors and embellishments.

Both cards are colored with copics.  The image is from Just Inklined.  I added a few clouds to the sky, the sentiment stamp is from Inkadinkadoo.  The embellishments and mesh are from my stash - could not find two pieces the same.
