A Basket of Sunshine

Shelly's Images has provided this beautiful digital image basket for the CDAC Progressive Challenge 14 series 3. The basket is colored with copics.  I thought the basket was perfect for Easter Eggs and chicks.  The chickies made me think of sunshine, thus the velum sentiment.  I will put Happy Easter on the inside of the card. The chicks and eggs are stickers from Sandy Lion.  The DP is from K & Company with a few flower stickers added.

Spent the day in the emergency room with my husband, they finally admitted him about 6:00 p.m.  He had fallen at home, and as he is 6'4" I could not get him out to the car so I had to call an ambulance.  He has a broken hip, but they may not be able to operate for a couple of days because of his blood thinners.  So you know where I will be during hospital visiting hours until he is ready to come home.

Mr. Bunny

A card for CDAC Progressive Challenge 14, Series 3.  The Bunny image is from Spectacular Printables and is from a drawing by Amber Katherine which came first  in the CDAC Digital Drawing Challenge.
I have colored him with copics and added him to a K&Company DP.  The Sentiment is computer generated.  I seem to have a lot of shadows in the photo because I used pop dots on the image and on the Sentiment.

We won our curling yesterday, but don't know if we are in the finals on Monday yet or not.  If we are not that will be my final game for the season.  I'm off to cards to-day for the day, 9:30 to 3:30 - lunch is always good.

Miss Bunny

Miss Bunny is a pretty little image from Stamping Dragon Designs.  Another card for the CDACPC14 Progressive challenge which ends April 1st.  I used a die from Nellie's multi frames to make the two ovals.  The image has been paper pieced, the little dress and the hearts.  I added a bit of color to the body with a copic marker.  Added some ribbon and a bow.  DP from my stash.

I will add this to the gallery and then I am off to curl  only one more day of curling for me after to-day.  The season is changing, so soon golfing will start - it will be nice to be able to spend more time outdoors.

Baby Girl

This comfy looking Rocking Chair complete with all kinds of stuffies is an image from A Day for Daisies. The card is for the CDAC Progressive Challenge 14, Series 3. It is also for the CDAC Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge. I have colored the image with a mixture of H20's and Stargazers Pearlescent & Metalic watercolors. The lamb is colored with the Pearlescent paint and it is from Petaloo. I cut around the image with a Nellie Snellen Die. The DP is from Autumn Leaves. And the cross pieces are from a EK Success Punch. I think it would be a sweet card to send to someone with a new baby girl.

St. Patricks Day Birthday

March 17 is my husbands birthday, so he often gets cards with the St. Patricks day theme. This year was no exception. The lovely lady holding the green brew is an image from Bugaboo. The hat with the shamrock was a free digi I downloaded this week, but did not realize the artists tag was not with the image, so if anyone knows what site I got it from - they can let me know. The sentiment was computer generated and the DP is from my Christmas stash, I thought it was suitable for this card. Images colored with copics.
Had two Birthday dinners with my husband, yesterday with family, and tonight we went to the Falls. Ate way too much both times!

Geraniums

I know that geraniums are usually red, pink or white.  I like blue, so that is the color I used for the basket of flowers.  This is a beautiful free image from Inks Art for CDACPC 14, series 3.  I had fun with this, but I think I have more leaves in the basket than flowers, maybe because that is the way my planters usually turn out.  I have colored the image with copics, added flower gems from Dollarama.  The sentiment is computer generated and the DP is from Hot Off the Press, Paper Pizazz.

We are experiencing very warm weather for this time of year, you didn't need a coat this afternoon.  I talked my husband into barbecuing on the back deck tonight, first time since last summer.  Very tasty.  Curled this morning and we won our game.  Only about three weeks left to curl this season.

Dressed For a Party

The big decision with this image was what to put on her outstretched hand?  Seeing as how I had added glitter to her dress, I decided on a very small purse.  Such a cute free image from Back to Paper to be used in the CDACPC 13  Series 3 Challenge which ends on March 14th.  A new Progressive Challenge with new images will begin then and run until the end of March.
I have colored the image with copics, adding some silver glitter to her dress.  The handbag is a stamp from Crafter's Companion, just the right size for this image.  Had fun with the designer paper I used, positioning it so that it looks like she has crown on her head.  The sentiment has been computer generated.

Went for my Mammogram to-day - hope everyone has this check up every couple of years, or more often if needed.  One of my closest friends went for her checkup recently and they discovered a small lump since the previous exam.  They were able to remove it and also took the lymph nodes from under that arm.  She will have radiation treatments, but should be okay.

Just a Flower

This lovely flower image free from Glitterbabe is to be used in the CDACPC13 - 3rd Series Progressive Challenge.  When entering the challenge you receive 5 digital images, to use.  If you enter a least one in the challenge you will receive free images for the next part of the challenge.  If you find you can't do this, you have the opportunity of buying in again for $1.00.  This part of the challenge runs until March 14th.
I have used the flower in 3 sizes, layered them with pop dots and added a Making Memories Metal Sticker in the Center.  The flower is mounted on a die cutout from Spellbinders.  The background pieces of the card were run through the Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots Folder.  Then the three sections of the card were glued together to form a T-Pee Card.   (The card looks quite red in the photo, but it is actually a bright pink.)

Spring Butteflies and Flowers

This card is for the Series 3 CDACPC13 Progressive Challenge.  This image from Crafting With Jack does make you think of Spring and of the flowers that will soon be blooming.  The background is DP from Color Bok.  I first stamped the butterfly on a transparency, embossed it with gold and then mounted it on a piece of shiny white cardstock that I had stamped with a pad using Tim Holtz Alchol Inks.  I used pop dots behind the butterfly to make it sit above the flowers.  The larger flowers are from Pettaloo, and even though they are meant to be colored I left them white to fit into the background.  The top flower is from my stash.

Strange day to-day it blows and the snow falls, but does not stay, then it is bright and sunny, I guess it is just telling us that winter isn't over yet!  Just a few more weeks of curling left for this season.

A Child's Happiness

This little girl with her tattered cat reminds me of my granddaughter and her cat which I have mended many times for her.  It has lost most of its plush coating and some of the stuffing, only has one eye, but is still a keepsake.  This card is for the CDAC Progressive Challenge Series 3, #13.  This delightful image is from Lia Stampz .  I have colored with copics, used a Martha Stewart punch on one side, and added embellishments from Dollarama to the lattice work.  The sentiment which is framed in a die cut from Nellies is computer generated.

To My Friend

CDAC has started a new Series #3 of their Progressive Challenge with new prizes.  We received five free digital images to work with from some wonderful sponsors of this part of the challenge CDACP13.  #13 goes from March 1 to 14th, This is the first card I have made for this series, it is an image from Patties Creations. The beautiful sunflowers are colored with copics and a small amount of Ranger Glossy Accents has been added to the vase.  The chipboard sentiment is from We R Memory Keepers and the pearls from Forever in Time.  The DP is from my stash.

Suppose to be very cold here to-day, but we are so lucky that we have had hardly any snow this winter which makes it so much easier to do any driving - No cleaning off windshields etc.

Have a Happy Day

My fourth card for the CDACPC 12 Challenge.  The image is from Crafting with Jack,  A very pretty image for St Patricks Day Cards.  Made circles for the images and tied them together with narrow white ribbon to resemble balloons.  Coloring done with copics and white Pergamano Pen.  DP from ATD Momenta, Scrapbook Paper.

Started this last night, but eventually had to go to bed - got very late.  This morning was on a new team for curling and we managed in the eighth end to get the extra points to win the game.  So, finally got a few minutes to finish the card.  Now I must go and make my husband some lunch!

Catching Frogs

I have used this image from Fred She Said before, for a Birthday card for a nephew on the west coast and I will use this one for a nephew on the east coast of Canada.  A cute image which I have colored with copics and then mounted on a piece of scrapbook paper which just said printed in China on the back.  I moved the bottom portion of the paper up for him to stand on.  A sentiment stamp was added layered with a blue piece of cardstock colored the same as his shorts.  This is my third card for CDACPC 12 the progressive challgenge.

I must say that I can remember my brothers hunting frogs in the creek behind our house when we were young and they always came back all covered in mud and goo.  One day they put a frog in my mothers teapot and when she opened it she got such a scare the teapot went flying.  They didn't try that trick again.

Mother & Daughter - Happy Moment

A beautiful image from A Day for Daisies.  I paper pieced the dresses, added Studio g glitter glue to the green one and Stampendous glitter to the pink dress. I then colored the ladies with copics.  To emblish the card I added a leaf diecut from Marianne Designs.  I added some pink glitter to flowers from Offray Stylish accents, which already had pearls in the centers and attached them to the leaves. A ribbon and pearls from my stash completed the card.

I seem to be running out of time to complete the cards for this session,  I will be away for the rest of the day to-day, but will try to be more productive tomorrow!

Celebrate it's your Birthday

This wonderful digital image is from Shelly's Images.  It is one of the images for the CDAC Progressive freebie challenge #12.  Due to many other things going on over the last few weeks, I was unable to take part in any of the challenges, but it was very easy for $1.00 to buy back into the challenge and download the five new images.

The image was colored on cardstock with copics.  I printed the image on a transparency and added the silver beads around the top of the glass.  I found this wildly colored designer paper in my stash and layered it on my card.  Then I added the drink glass which I had cut out - then the top layer - the transparency.  Last but not least the sentiment, a sticker from Miss Elizabeth's.

Happy Birthday Girlfriend

This great image from Bugaboo is perfect for a friends birthday card.  It is also to be entered in the CDAC Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge for Febuary (MMSC135).  The challenge now runs for a whole month. The image was colored with copics.  The designer cardstock is from my stash, and the pink rhinestone flourishes are from Recollections.

Not the greatest photo, slightly skewed, but this is the inside of the card, same DP as on the outside with a computer generated verse.

The Snowmen

This great trio of snowmen in a digital image is from Ka Wink E Dink.  They are colored in copics, the sentiment is a stamp from Inkadinkadoo and the DP is from Provo Craft.  Started to post this earlier, but sometimes, shopping, making dinner and the laundry get in the way!

The Christmas Cat

This wonderful Christmas digital image is from Priscilla Styles.  My sister has acquired a rescue cat in the last year, so this was for her.   I colored the image with copics and mounted it on two DPs from Graphic 45.  No sentiment necessary on the front of the card as all the Xmas wishes are there.

Three Winter Birds

This digital image by Jehanne, Just Some Lines captures the season very well. The image was a winner in the Digi Club 1st contest in December.   I colored the image with copics. I added a red cs oval behind the image and mounted it on DP from DCWV.  I put a red ribbon with white stitching between the two designer papers.  Added a punched and embossed pointsettia  and three small punched out Xmas trees.

Cards for Christmas

This image is from  Bugaboo stamps colored with copics, framed by a piece of mesh mounted on DP from my stash.  A pointsettia and leaves punched from a sheet of metal.

The same image colored in slightly different colors mounted on mesh with glitter and a stamped sentiment, and a green & red ornament popped up.  DP from Provo craft.

Staying with the Christmas theme.

Before Christmas, I got together with a group my sister in law belongs to and I made several cards that day.  This card was made with DP from Basic Grey, Using some plain and some patterned cardstock, we cut out two circles, and then placed triangles to form trees on top of the ribbon we used to divide the card.  A gold brad on the ribbon and a Peel off for the sentiment.

Not sure whose stamp the ornament is, embossed in blue and mounted on white cs which had been embossed with the swiss dot cuttlebug folder.  The blue cardstock was embossed with a Crafts-Too folder.  A small white bow was added above the ornament.

This card was very quick to make, some distress ink was smooshed over the DP so that it was not so bright.  Two cut outs from DP by Graphic 45, a few punched out pointsettias and greenery and the card was finished.

I made a couple more cards that day, but must have forgotten to take photos.

Christmas Cards

I can't believe it's been a whole month since I last posted on my blog.  December has been a very busy time, with lots of visitors, my curling, Christmas, and a computer that was not working properly.
It was fun though, I got to see all of my family, and spend some time with them and their children.
Anyway, hope that I can make up for some lost time and I will post some of the cards that I made for Christmas, which of course have all been sent out a few weeks ago.

These three cards were made from a wonderful Christmas digital image from Priscilla Styles.  The red and green card is colored in copics and metalic watercolors from Yasutomo.
The second card is colored with copics and I used a white pen on the ribbon, small and large diamond dots on the bell and some metalic paint.  I did a circular cut around the bells and added a larger silver circle behind it.  I used a corner punch from EK Success and Silver paper as the bottom layer on the front of the card.
The third card in shades of green, purple and turquoise is colored with copics. The circle is part of the digital image. the designer paper is from BoBunny and I was able to pop  up the ornaments and the two darker circles in the top left and lower right corner, adding a rhinestone to each of them.

You are invited - -

I really had to think about this one - but if I remember rightly the theme for these images was supposed to be food, though not too many of them fell into that category when we made our cards.  This is my last card for CDAC Progressive Challenge 7.  The crab is an image from Tiffany Doodles and is colored with copics.  The strawberries are from Creative Charms, the ribbon from my stash and the wording computer generated right onto the card.
If you have not entered into any of the Progressive Challenges, I hope you will do so, the next one starts on the first of December and runs until the 15th.  All new images.

Please leave a comment, I so love to read them!

Give Thanks

This was the bonus image for CDAC Progressive Challenge 7, from Jen, Digi Stamps for Joy.  I colored the image with copics, added a small dragonfly in blue and cut around it with a Nellie Snellens die.  It is mounted on cardstock from my stash.  A lovely image!
Hope you have time to leave a comment. Thanks for looking.

Birthday Sentiment

This is my 5th card for the CDAC Progressive Challenge 7.  I chose to make a gift card, it does open.  This very useful sentiment was from Sending Treasures.  The card was cut with a Nellie Snellen die.  The second layer has been embossed with a folder from Crafting to you.  The center was again cut with the smaller Nellie Snellen die.  The green gems were from Melissa Frances.

The Yak

Isn't he a hairy looking beast.  This is my 4th card for CDAC Progressive Challenge 7.  The bull is from Crafting with Jack.  I colored him with copics starting out light and then deciding I liked him darker.  (The pictures I saw on the internet showed they come in all colors.)  Added the sheave and ribbon and chipboard button from my stash.  Sentiment stamp from Art Impressions.  Cardstock from DCWV.  I think it looks like a man's card, hope someone will appreciate it.

If you have time, comments are greatly appreciated!

An Apple a Day

This card is for the CDAC Progressive Challenge, 7, Which ends in a couple of days.  The digital image of the apple is from Heart Song Designs.  The apple is colored with copics. The sentiment is from Micheals, The green apple is a button, I cut the shank off the back.  The embossing is a folder from Crafts-Too you.  A quick card as I have been busy babysitting, and my computer is not working (thank goodness my husband has one too.)

The Honey Bear

Isn't he just the sweetest little bear!  The digital image is from Sew Many Cards for CDAC Progressive Challenge, series 7.  This is my second card for this series.  I colored the bear and the tree with copics, added some Glossy accents and used a photo of the sky that I took from the back of our house.  The sentiment was computer generated.

Had a houseful of family for the weekend, 7 children, 3 adults.  So I was very busy for a few days, and then on Monday, when I went to use my computer it wouldn't let me download pictures or print.  I am using my husbands computer until I can get mine fixed, but I will have a six month old here for the next fours days.  I will have to try to get my other cards done when he is napping, or after he goes to bed at night.

Comments are appreciated, thanks for looking!

The Snowboarder

This is a card for my thirteen year old grandson, Jarrod - he snowboards and skis in the winter - which means he will be out there soon.  I colored the trees and the snowboarder with copics.  I put glitter on the mountain top and snowpen on the area where the snowboarder is standing.  I didn't like the effect of either one, so I covered them both with white Gesso.  (Actually when heating the white from the snowpen it turned brown in one spot - too much heat!).  The sky is colored with Distress Ink with a brush.  The DP is from Basic Grey.  Sometimes it's hard to find an image for a boy this age, so I was pleased when I came across this one from Guylou.

One old Hen

This is a gift / pillow box made for CDAC Progressive Challenge Series 7.  The upper picture is closer to the true color than the lower one.  The Hen was colored with copics, and gems were added to head, tail and body. The image of the hen is from Sugar Creek Hollow and the Birthday sentiment is from Sending Treasures.  The other sentiment was computer generated - have to have a little fun sometimes!  It is ll inches long, so will hold a gift.

The Perfect Bride

This is my sixth card for the CDAC Progressive Challenge series 6, which is over at midnight to-night.  This wonderful image is from Margaret Kieser, a member, this was one of the top images in the Drawing Challenge last month!!  The lattice on each side of the bride is part of an image from Nana Vic.  The bride is colored with Copics.  I used a Quickie Glue pen to add glitter to add glitter to the dress and veil.  The lattice is colored with white Pergamano pen.  The lace and roses are from Dollarama.  Blue cardstock from my stash.  I think she is a beautiful bride!

Lilac Butterfly

A very pretty but quick card to make.  The glitter on the butterfly wings does not show up in the photo as well as it does on the card.  The image is is called Exotic Butterfly from Cheery Lynn Designs.  The background is a cuttle bug folder, after embossing it, I used a small mauve ink pad to highlight the design.  The sentiment has no name on the sheet, and it is not in it's original packaging.

I'm quite excited, because tomorrow I get to look after my youngest grandson; (Colton (6 Months old).  He will only be here for to-night and until noon tomorrow, but next week I get to look after him for a whole day while his older brother and sisters go to the waterpark in Niagara.  Have to enjoy the kids while they are still young, they grow so fast.  Next week my husband is having a cataract removed from his left eye and in two weeks, they will do the right eye.  Lots of appointments to get to before he is finished.

Christmas Candles

This is my fifth card for the CDAC Progressive Challenge, series 6.  It is a wonderful Chritmas digital image from Daisy Doodles.  I colored the candles with copics and added some Diamond Dot stickers from Stampendous to the red candle, some stickles to the two blue candles.  The BP is from my stash.  I will add a sentiment to it when I send it.

Merry Christmas from above.

This is my fourth card for Series 6 of the CDAC Progressive Challenge which is over on November 15th.  The image of the bear in the plane is from Ellephantastic Digis.  The image is colored with copics and a Hi-Jell silver pen.  The Sentiment is cut from Bo-Bunny cardstock.  The oval trim at the bottom of the card is from Basic Grey.  The stamp is from B-Line, Home Sweet Home, stamped in Stazon Ink.  The reds look the same on the card, but on the Silver Background, they look different in the photo.

Thanks for stopping by hope you have time to leave a comment, they are appreciated.

Bear Family Sliding Downhill

This is my third card for the CDAC Progressive Challenge series six which will end on the 15th of  Novermber and I still have two more cards to make .  The image of the bear is from Design 2 Delight.  I had fun with this image copying it 4 times in different sizes. The bears are colored with copics, the sky with Distress Ink, and the snow is from a Marvy Uchida snow marker.  The snowflake stickers are from Starform, and the Sentiment printed on my computer.

We have had some wonderful weather here, so did some work in my garden trimming shrubs and pulling out the tomato plants, etc.  I have been curling mornings three times a week, have been on the winning side more often lately so get to buy the drinks!

Thank you for looking, hope you have time to leave a comment - they are appreciated!

Barn Scene

This is my second card for the CDAC Progressive Challange, series 6.  This wonderful barn scene is from Ginger Loft.  I have used Ranger Distress Ink using the ink pad and sponges direct to paper.  I used post it notes to cover the areas where I was not stamping, or coloring.  I printed out the image on a slant, then stamped in the triangular areas at each corner of the card.  Then colored the card.  The Ponderosa Pine branch stamp is from Stampendous, and the Christmas word stamp is from Inkadinkado.  I am so used to doing Christmas cards in red and green or gold or silver, that I don't know if these colors are right or not!

The shopping Elephant

This cute little Elephant who likes to shop is a digital image from Inked Treasures.  I have colored her with copics.  Cut a hole in the designer paper to frame her with a Nellie's multi frame's oval.  The Snowflakes at the top of the card were cut with a Marianne Design die.  The DP is from K&Company, and the ribbon from my stash.  This is my first card for the CDAC Progressive Challenge, series 6, which ends November 15th.

My favorite store for card making supplies is closing at the end of the month.  As long as I have been making cards they have had free classes on Saturday mornings, a weekend in the spring and fall, with classes and lunch for both days free of charge, and make and takes.  I have not always been able to attend, but have gone when I could, and have gotten to know the names of most of the people in their classes.  They display the cards that the teachers for the classes made, and you are allowed to take pictures of them.  They also had classes taught by some of the suppliers some free, some where you were doing hands on, and paid for the day.  The store is Angela's Creative Papercraft in Dundas, Ontario, Canada and we will miss not only the store, but the wonderful staff.

Christmas Cookies

This is my sixth card for CDAC Progressive Challenge series 5.  It is a free image from Digidrawn to use in this challenge.  I have used the image three times on this card, removing one of the cookies to make it look different for the center of the card.  They have been colored with copics.  I did all of the Invitation on my computer and then added the popped up cookies and the metal Noel which is from Hot Off the Press Inc.
The papers and cardstock are from my stash.

The wind angel on a cloud

My fifth card for CDAC Progressive Challenge series 5.  The image "Angel on a cloud" from Just Some Lines By Jehanne.  I chose to use the Irish Blessing on this card thinking of the line - "May the wind always be at your back."  I have kept the card fairly simple, using copics to color the image and the sails of the ship, also, to edge the sentiment which I typed on the computer.  The ship and the anchors are gold stickers from Starform.

Sunday, October 23, 2011

Christmas Gingerbread Cookies

This is my fourth card for the CDAC Progressive Challenge, series 5.  This series runs until the end of October, and then series 6 will run until mid November.  This cute little girl with the basket of gingerbread men is an image from SSBS Design. I have paper pieced the full image.  Some of the paper is the same as the background pieces.  The paper with the green & red holly is from BoBunny, the other papers and the ribbon are from my Christmas stash.  The pointsetias are punches from Ecstasy Crafts (2) - one cuts, one embosses.  The sentiment is a sticker from Ecstasy Crafts.

Thanksgiving Turkey

My third card for the CDAC Progressive Challenge series 5.  This handsome Turkey image is from Sew Many Cards.  I have colored the image with copics.  Added a clock from a piece of DP from my stash.  Tied bits of ribbon to a piece of leather and added it down the side of the card.  Typed up and colored the edges  of the sentiment with copics.  Background paper from Colorbok.

Dirt Biker

I know my grandson rides his motor bike in his uncles fields, but I have no idea what the bike looks like!  This is another great digital image from Kenny K,  I think I have used one of his images for every one of my grandsons, there are seven, actually eight, but the last one is only 6 months old!  I had colored the image with copics and cut circles with my coluzzle and the larger circle with my Martha Stewart Cutter.  Added colored cardstock to finish it off.  A fun card to make, now to add something to the inside to make it complete.

Was curling this morning, this is our second week, I have curled five games, all with different people, and I have not had the privilege of buying anyone a drink -  which means I have not been on a winning team yet.  Oh well, hope there are better days ahead.

Thanksgiving Abundance

This is my second card for the CDAC Progressive Challenge, series five.  This fancy turkey image with the pie is from Sew Many Cards.  I have colored the image with copics and added a small amount of glitter.
The DP is from Debbie Mumm and has glitter on just about everything.  The Background Paper is from my stash.  All in all a very colorful bird!

Thanks so much for visiting, hope you have time to leave a comment, they are very much appreciated.
